Master in International Affairs (MIA)
The two-year full-time Master in International Affairs (MIA) programme furthers the school’s mission of educating current and future generations of leaders to improve the level of governance in Asia. The programme brings Asia’s role as a key influencer in world affairs to the forefront.
The MIA programme provides students with a strong foundation in both theoretical frameworks and practical knowledge of multi-disciplinary subfields of international relations, together with an immersive experience in Asia.
The Master in International Affairs cohort comprises 30 students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, all with a keen interest in global affairs and Asia. All students must possess a good undergraduate degree – and most importantly, be passionate about contributing to positive transformation in Asia and beyond.
A notable feature of the programme is its Asia-focused curriculum, considering the inter-linked nature of the world economy and Asia’s rising influence in it. It draws from a range of subjects like international political economy, global governance, foreign policy analysis and geopolitics. The programme is taught by a distinguished faculty including Acting Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School Professor Danny Quah, Professor Kanti Prasad Bajpai, Professor Khong Yuen Foong and others.
